Quick Food Poisoning Remedies
Food poisoning signs and symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and pain, headache are never expected intentionally. However, a good number of the world’s total population always have a tablet or two to control loose bowel movement in their bag. However, when we are hit with a “heavier” conditions such as those caused by salmonella, e. coli, e. botulism and the like, we need food poisoning remedies that is more than just an anti-diarrhea tablet.
The problem is, sometimes, we are not aware that the food served in front of us is contaminated with bacteria or virus that will cause us to suffer just after ingestion or days after. We may have been taught not to eat anything that smells or tastes funny but this is not always possible. As stated earlier, food poisoning symptoms are not expected most of the time.
Being aware of food poisoning signs and symptoms such as those stated above is very important to properly handle this health disruption. Quick food poisoning remedies are actually dependent on the signs and symptoms experienced by the patient. For vomiting, the quick fix would be to offer “soft” foods and saltine crackers instead of meat or other things that are hard to chew and needs hardcore digestion. A person that is nauseated and vomiting will loose his appetite anyway. Moreover, offering small feeding frequently is better than going with the normal big breakfast, lunch and dinner meal times.

For the diarrhea, remember that what is causing the food poisoning signs and symptoms are bacteria or virus. That means, you do not want these microorganisms inside your body. It is still better to let them go even if they make you sit in the toilet bowl every 15 minutes. What you should do is to make sure to replace the fluids and electrolytes that is lost every time you defecate. Diarrhea can easily cause dehydration especially if you are dealing with a young child, and elderly or someone who has weak immune system. Some people have to go to the hospital for dextrose just to replace the needed fluid and electrolytes lost. For a quick remedy, you could take sports drinks and juices. Drink as often as you can and at least every time you defecate and vomit.
For the food poisoning signs of abdominal pain and cramping, if warm compress helps you, then you could try that. However, some people prefer to just do the fetal position in bed. Speaking of heat and cold, it would be nice if you regulate the temperature in the patient’s room. Some people feel sicker when it is too hot or too cold for them. Consider that the temperature regulation of the patient’s body may be altered.
Some people experience headache along with the other food poisoning signs and symptoms. A pain reliever might help but it is better to adjust the environment for it not to contribute with the headache. Say for example, close the curtains if light makes the headache worse.
But aside from treating the food poisoning signs of symptoms, the patient is advised to rest. It is not like you could work when you have to go to the comfort room in short intervals. Resting for just 3-7 days would allow your body to heal and cope with the damages brought by the food poisoning incidence.
